The underwater museum in Cancun is due to open, offering those taking holidays in Mexico with an intriguing new attraction.
The idea is to tempt snorkelling holidaymakers away from coral reefs which are being damaged by tourism and instead direct them to a new purpose-built attraction which will feature hundreds of underwater sculptures.
Snorkelling and looking at coral is one of the major attractions of a holiday in Cancun, but with the area becoming increasingly popular, Mexican authorities are having to take action to minimise people’s impact on the environment.
