It seems that Europe remains the most popular place for Brits to take city breaks, according to a recent study carried out by Abta.
Despite a poor exchange rate at the minute, British tourists are still taking their Euros abroad when taking a city break. Among the most popular destinations are Brussels, Barcelona and Paris.
It seems likely that the continuing popularity of these cities is at least partly the result of many tourists forsaking longer holidays in favour of long weekends away.
Around a third of UK holidaymakers claim that short city breaks constitute their favourite holidays and geography dictates that the majority of destinations are within the EU.
