The November issue of EasyJet’s flight magazine has been withdrawn due to the offensiveness of its cover. 300,000 copies have been removed after complaints about the front cover where Berlin’s Jewish Museum and Holocaust memorial were the backdrop for fashion photography.
The agency responsible for the cover feature had written permission to take photographs in front of the museum, but not in front of the memorial and many Jewish groups ahve complained that the pictures are in poor taste.
The feature was intended to draw attention to local fashion talent, but seems spectacularly ill-advised. EasyJet, while quick to underline that they themselves were not responsible for the images taken, have also apologised to customers.
