Staying at the Hilton in Osaka

Posted by Ken On May - 26 - 2009

Of all the many different types of food you can get in the world, my absolute favourite is “international cuisine” and the Osaka Hilton offers the best international cuisine anywhere in the world.

Sometimes I’ll take a day off from all the trailblazing and market leading and I’ll come to the Osaka Hilton and have a bit of international cuisine. It’s only 15 hours or so away and an executive class flight is never a chore.

Japan’s such a great country to visit, with great international cuisine and excellent accommodation. All of this is within the confines of the hotel, so you never need to leave. It’s got everything you could ever want to help you enjoy Japan to the full.

Review of a trip to the pyramids of Giza

Posted by Alex On May - 22 - 2009

Did you know that the base of the great pyramid is level to within an inch, even though it’s about a kilometre long. It was built 5,000 years ago. That’s one of about a billion unbelievable facts about the pyramids of Giza.

What must it be like to take in their awe-inspiring splendour? Put-their-name-in-the-wrong-section-when-signing-up user of Trip Advisor, Oct2005, knows and they’ve told us:

“My boyfriend got punched in the back by a small child because he wouldn’t buy a postcard.”

Don’t as me. Ask Trip Advisor user lizardzx:

“The ride was very short and out of the 12 people on the ride only two got wet. My special needs daughter was very upset because she did not get wet.”

Only a sixth of the people got wet. A sixth! That’s not even a quarter. If three people had got wet, it would have been just about okay – as long as one of them had special needs.

Holiday in Culatra – idyllic beyond belief

Posted by Alex On May - 18 - 2009

It’s ‘overly poetic, overly idyllic holiday quote of the week’.

This week it’s Kevin Gould, writing in The Guardian about Culatra on the Algarve.

“Up close, I see that the Culatrans coax exquisite gardens out of the sand with wildflowers, succulents, shell patterns and mad blushes of bougainvillea. Old fishing nets and briny ropes enclose the gardens, and lines of washing flap in the Atlantic breeze.”

The Culatrans have gardens and they dry their washing in them.

Posted by Ali Al-Bodi On May - 12 - 2009

The holiday company, Tropical Sky, has recently announced some reduced prices for holidays to the Caribbean.

The offers are available for those travelling between May and December with flights from Gatwick. All transfers are included and this price is for one week all-inclusive.

Both Antigua and Barbados are hugely popular destination and with good reason.
