Cathay Pacific have announced that they will be offering greater frequency of flights in 2010. The increase is not expected to be great, but their CEO, Tony Tyler, said that further flights could yet be added if there is sufficient response from travellers.
He added that economy class was invariably filled on most flights, but that the airline had struggled for bookings from ‘premium’ travellers. Cathay Pacific are working on the policy that if they maintain high standards, they are giving these passengers a reason to book.
With a slight resurgence in flight bookings in 2010, this approach may yet pay dividends.
