VANCOUVER, CANADA – People travelling to Vancouver for the Olympic Games who had booked to stay on a floating hotel will now have to find alternative accommodation after the plan was cancelled.
The cruise ship, the Norwegian Star, has over a thousand rooms on board, but due to poor sales, the plan has been shelved. Rooms were initally priced at 1,000 Canadian dollars, but had dropped as low as 275 Canadian dollars. Apparently this still wasn’t low enough to entice people.
Money will be refunded to those who have booked and the company responsible say that they will make every effort to seek out alternative accommodation for people.
