Just when you think you’ve fought off Australia, you realise that even the seemingly dull parts offer great places to have a beer. How can you fight that?

Daylesford, Victoria: it’s not a place people travel half way round the world to see. Why not?

Staying at the Hilton in Sydney

As a busy CEO of wealth and taste, I occasionally need to take a few days to unwind and forget about the mobile convergence industry and my company’s place at its forefront. So maybe four or five times a year, I fly Executive Class to Sydney.

I love Australia. It’s a country built by self-made men, much like myself; men who work hard and play hard. As I always say: if you work less hard than me, I’ll crush you; and if you play less hard than me, I’ll crush you. It’s a catchy saying and my staff, who are in awe of my business achievements, admire me for it.

When I visit Sydney for a weekend or a long weekend, I always stay in the Hilton. They have wi-fi and a sensory spa and those are the things you need after flying halfway round the world. You don’t even need to leave the hotel.

The Shangri-La in Sydney offers unusual entertainment

A Trip Advisor member from Minnesota has spared us all a horrendous in-room experience at the Shangri La Hotel in Sydney. They’ve shared their bad experience with the world so that everyone else is safe.

If I go on holiday to Sydney, I won’t be staying in the Shangri La, that’s for certain.

“There were not rats in my room, but there were Asian Beatles.”

Just how offputting would it be to roll over in the middle of the night in your five star hotel room and catch sight of Jeetan Lennon or Ringo Singh?
