We’re all conditioned to switch off our mobile phones before we board a flight, although many people are pretty quick off the draw to switch them on again once the plane’s landed. Now British Airways will be allowing business class travellers on flights from London to New York to use their phones while they are in the air.
The service will be quite costly, but it’s not cost that’s keeping actual calls off limits. BA have decided that phone calls would be too irritating for other passengers and it’s hard to disagree with that verdict.
