British Airways have stated that they are still considering a move to join forces with Australian airline, Qantas, despite what is expected to be a largely hostile reaction from the Australian public.
BA see their recent deal with Spanish Iberia Airlines as a sort of template as to how they could go about a potential tie-up with Qantas. In the Iberia deal, both BA and Iberia have retained their separate brand identities and home airports and BA bosses believe a similar deal could be struck with Qantas.
The two airlines currently co-operate on the Sydney-Singapore-Heathrow flight route.
